Still learning how to cook mon hin khar^^^

Nowadays, Ready-made Mon hin khar can be available so that we can cook it during 15 minutes.
Firstly, we need to boil water. After that pour all ready made dry items into it. After 15 minutes you can eat it as breakfast.

Nearly all Myanmar like it and have as breakfast as well as a meal. Some donation party treat guesses with it. It is also traditional food. It is slightly change taste and color according to states of Myanmar. Now i posted is Yangon Mon Hin Khar. This food is more delicious if you add egg or fried chick peas in glutin rice dough (Myanmar calls “pae gat kyor”) into it.

Shan Noodle

Shan noodle is one of the famous Myanmar food. It is very delicious. Most of the Myanmar like it and I also like it. It is derived from Shan State which is east part of Myanmar. We can eat it as lunch or dinner or just snack.


  1. Dried shan noodle
  2. Chicken or Pork
  3. Onion, chilli, garlic, ginger
  4. Oil, chicken powder, salt, fish sauce, light soya bean sauce
  5. Peanut, sesame, onion tops

How to do?

1. Before starting cooking it, we need to put the dried shan noodle into water in appropriate pot for around 12 hours in order to have better taste in noodle.

2. First, meat (chicken or pork) must be boiled with ginger, some salt and chicken powder for 30 minutes. Then, boiled chicken should be removed from fires in order to make cold. After it, those chicken is needed to cut into suitable size (small size). Then,  We need to cook this small pieces of chicken with onion, oil, and garlic. In which, suitable amount of salt, fish sauce, chicken powder should be poured.

3. You need to pound peanut and sesame separately.  Onion tops also should be cut down.

These above three steps are preparing for doing Shan noodle which look like salad.

How to salad?

1. First,  boil water and put dried noodle into it for just 3 minutes. After that, take noodle and put it in bowl.

2. Then, you can pour one spoon of chicken curry, light soya bean sauce, pounded peanut and sesame, cut onion tops.

3. Mix all.

If you need in taste, you can add some salt or fish sauce and chicken powder.

Now, you can eat your shan noodle eagerly and can eat more than one plate/bowl.

Note: Some ate it mixing chicken soup. If you want it, you can just pour chicken soup into your salad (shan noodle).

  1. Roselle, bamboo shoot (hmyit)
  2. Chilli, salt, fish sauce, chicken powder, fish paste, onion, garlic, oil

How to do?

1. Fry some onion and garlic first. Then, add chilli.

2. After a few minute, you can add Roselle(Chin baun).  Next, you can pour some salt, fish sauce, chicken powder and few water. You need to stir till when Roselle change brown color.

3. After that, you can add bamboo shoot (hmyit) and fish paste into it. And you need to stir again and again to mix all of ingredients. After all, you can get very delicious fried Roselle.

It will make more delicious your meal.

Kyar San Chat


  1. Meat as you like (chicken or pork).
  2. Bean stick (pal chaut)
  3. Bean Vermicelli (gouin kyar san)
  4. Black Fungus (Hmo chaut)
  5. Pepper powder, salt, chicken powder, fish sauce, chili powder
  6. Onion, ginger, garlic

How to do it?

Before starting cooking, Bean stick, Bean Vermicelli and Black Fungus are required to put in water at least for 30 minutes.

1. First, meat should be cooked with onion, garlic, oil, ginger, chili powder, with very few water. It needs to be cooked till no more water. It should be cooked in sauce pan.

2. Then, you need to boil water in pot. If boiling water, Bean stick and Black Fungus are put into it. After 10 minutes, you can pour the cooked meat into it. Some salt, chicken powder and fish sauce can be added as you want. After that, you can add Bean Vermicelli into your meal.  After all steps, your pot should be still in fires and it is covered by lip.

3. After that, you can eat your “kyar san chat” eagerly.
